Description: Stories are one of the most powerful things in humanity. Stories teach us empathy, compassion and hopefully we achieve some sort of understanding. Brightening the day of the students with wonderful stories, a story telling session was conducted on the 1st of August 2018 in St. Karen’s Montessori School, where life and expression was in abundance. As a learning tool story telling can encourage students to explore their unique expressiveness and can heighten a student’s ability to communicate thoughts and feelings in an articulate, lucid manner. It helps to improve their language skills, instills a love of reading and stirs their imagination. The event had 12 participants from different classes 1 to 3. Stories of Std-I were based on “Animals”, Std-II were based on “Loving family” and Std-III presented the famous stories of Akbar and Birbal. The teachers who were involved put a tremendous effort in making this event a success. Children were gathered, gave them practice and made sure that the students were in excellent condition to present their stories. On the day of the competition everything went well and the best three story tellers were chosen at the end of the event. Finally, the students agreed that they have gained a lot of insight by participating in this competition and they promised that they will further take part in such competitions in the future.
